The vision of Health Libraries Australia is to promote, inform, unite, influence, and innovate libraries and information professionals in the health and biomedical sector. In support of this vision, and in line with ALIA's policy direction and priorities, HLA will undertake strategic initiatives in five key areas (portfolios): professional development; research and development; networking and collaboration; advocacy; and promotion.

to co-convenors Ann Ritchie and Cheryl Hamill on organising the highly successful HLA Professional Development Day, Dreaming 2020 – strategic visions for health librarianship, and the ALIA Biennial Conference Health Libraries Stream at Dreaming 08, in Alice Springs on the 2nd and 3rd September. Reports and papers from the two events will appear in the September issue of HLA News.
