ALIA governance

The Association is governed in a straightforward manner by the election of a Board - the Board of Directors. Committees are formed by the Board to carry out tasks as assigned, and a National Advisory Congress is convened at regular intervals to set direction and review the processes set in place. Elections to positions of office-bearers takes place yearly, and a divisional structure underpins the communication between interested groups within the membership base.

In the move to a new incorporated body in 2000, the Association formed a group structure, rather than the earlier divisional structure of branches, sections and special interest groups, which have all now lapsed.
